My interest in art began in Rochester, New York. I graduated form Mohawk Valley Community College with a degree in Advertising, Design and Production and then from Kent State University with a BFA in painting and weaving.
I moved to the North Country in 1974. After many years of exhibiting and doing local craft shows, I obtained my Masters in Education from Potsdam College. I taught classes in various crafts at the Arts and Crafts Center on Ft. Drum before I began teaching at Indian River Central School. There, I taught elementary art, then moved to the high school where I conducted studio classes in jewelry, sculpture and ceramics.
While I enjoy working in various media, my most recent work has been in ceramics, where I have been making unusual flower vase forms and a porcelain jewelry line, wherein natural themes predominate.
